Faces Of Meth
-
Description: Jail Deputy Bret King wanted to get a look at the woman's face, but she was a blur, bouncing around a holding cell, kicking and clawing at the air. Ramped-up on methamphetamine, her hair a sweat-drenched mop, the woman wrestled a demon only she could see. Through the cell's thick glass, King heard her shriek at the invisible beast, "Go away in the name of Jesus." Curious, the deputy turned to a computer in the Multnomah County Detention Center's booking area and pulled up her mug shot. The image was as chilling as the woman's drug-induced psychosis. At 20, youth had vanished from her skeletal face. She was the picture of self-destruction.

Description: Being involved with drugs is a lot like playing Russian Roulette. So little is under your control. Hanging with friends who do drugs. Driving with someone who is high. Depending on people who put drugs ahead of their families and friends. And then there's you---making a decision to use. The first time it's a choice. After that, it may not be. And sometimes it's hard to know the total consequences of your choice---until it's too late. You might think "not me." Not my body, not my friends, not my life. Think twice.

Meth Is Death
-
Description: Methamphetamine is a powerfully addictive and illegal stimulant known on the street as "Meth," "Speed," "Crank," "Chalk," "Fire," "Glass," "Ice," "Tweak," "Uppers," "Yaba" and other names. Whatever it's called, none of the names tell you what it really does. Meth is different. People who use it can get hooked after just their first try, and once a person is addicted it's extremely difficult to get off the drug. The ingredients used to make meth include toxic chemicals that do permanent injury to the body. Meth doesn't just affect the user, it also impacts the user's family and society as a whole. This is one drug capable of destroying lives, families and communities. We're talking about lasting destruction, including irreversible and serious damage to the body, parents in jail and kids in foster homes, and serious environmental damage from toxic chemicals in communities where meth is made.

Raving Club Drugs
-
Description: Across the country, teens and young adults enjoy all-night dance parties known as "raves" or "rave clubs" and increasingly encounter more than just hard pounding techno-music and flashing laser lights. Dangerous substances known collectively as club drugs are frequently used and distributed here. Rave clubs are often promoted through flyers and advertisements distributed at other rave clubs, in record shops, clothing stores, on college campuses, and over the Internet. Many parents allow their teens to attend these all night parties since on the flyers they might read; NO Alcohol and Supervised. The truth is, rave clubs rarely sell alcohol because most attendees are not old enough to purchase it. Many believe alcohol counteracts the effects of many club drugs. People need to realize when you use club drugs you open yourself to potential date-rape situations and other risky activities, such as increased drug use, unpredictable behavior and unprotected sex.
